Frenectomy Sounds Scarier, Than It Is
A frenectomy is a procedure that releases the restrictive tissue under the tongue or attached skin on the underside of the upper lip using a cold cut laser, that makes it quick and precise. This is necessary when it is too restrictive in what is called tongue-tie or lip-tie.
Considered safe and minimally invasive procedure, a frenectomy, helps solve problems in infants that struggle with latching on and being able to breastfeed properly. Frenectomies also help children that experience speech problems, where they can’t form specific sounds (like ‘t’, ‘d’, ‘s’, ‘l’, ‘r’, and ‘n’) because they can’t form the sound due to the restriction. By correcting tongue-ties or lip-ties with frenectomy, a child can go on to live a much healthier life, physically and mentally.
